An hour of after-school Photography Club once a week, where I was taught the basics of composition and how to develop film and print, encouraged my interest and led me to supply images to local newspapers whilst at school and college. The Newspaper Industry was a steep learning curve which led to years of newspaper and agency shifts, but when you have five jobs a day and you are already late, you learn fast.
The decline of print journalism opened the door to more PR and Corporate work where an eye for creative shots, taken professionally and delivered quicky has kept the diary full. One day I can be on a building site in Devon providing Property Photography, an awards ceremony for Wiltshire Police the next, and a publicity shoot for a national PR agency the day after.
