Mark Twain.

‘Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life’.

Dominic Parkes

This really is true. I was one of the lucky kids at school who spoke to the right teacher at the right moment.

An hour of after-school Photography Club once a week, where I was taught the basics of composition and how to develop film and print, encouraged my interest and led me to supply images to local newspapers whilst at school and college. At 18, with my driving licence and trusty Pentax I decided to turn professional and become a Freelance available to local newspapers -It’s easy to be brave when still living at home…

The Newspaper Industry was a steep learning curve which led to years of newspaper and agency shifts, but when you have five jobs a day and you are already late, you learn fast.

The decline of print journalism opened the door to more PR and Corporate work where an eye for creative shots, taken professionally and delivered quicky has kept the diary full. One day I can be on a building site in Devon providing Property Photography, an awards ceremony for Wiltshire Police the next, and a publicity shoot for a national PR agency the day after.

After over 25 years,

Several houses, 11 cars, 10 cameras and a whole lot of shoe leather I can honestly say the Mark Twain quote is true.

If you think I may be able to help with your Photography project, big or small, close or far, please drop me an email or give me a call.
